Buy your grafted kumquat, ideal for growing in pots or in the ground. Compact citrus tree. Guaranteed delivery in Puerto Rico.
The grafted kumquat is a relatively compact citrus fruit tree, ideal for those who want to grow fruit on the patio, in the garden, or even in a large pot. It produces small, orange fruits that can be eaten whole, including the peel.
Its manageable size and suitability for container planting make it an excellent alternative for small spaces. In addition to producing fruit, its green foliage, white flowers, and orange fruit add ornamental appeal to the garden.

Growing in Pots
Grafted kumquats grown in pots are an excellent alternative when space is limited. It is recommended to use a large pot with good drainage and a substrate that allows for easy removal of excess water.
Place it in an area that receives plenty of sunlight. As the tree grows, it may be necessary to repot it into a larger container to allow for proper root development.
Growing in pots also allows for easier control of the tree's size and location.
Direct Planting in the Ground
To plant kumquats directly in the ground, select a sunny location with good drainage. Avoid areas where water tends to pool after heavy rains.
When planting, maintain the original soil level and avoid burying the trunk or graft union too deeply. During the establishment phase, regular watering is necessary, which should be adjusted later according to soil and weather conditions.
Harvest Time
Because it's a grafted kumquat, it can begin producing fruit considerably earlier than a citrus tree grown from seed. As a general guideline, kumquats can begin bearing fruit at approximately two years old, although the exact time will depend on the tree's age and development at the time of purchase, the rootstock used, growing conditions, nutrition, sunlight, and management.
Production can vary from tree to tree, so the harvest time should not be considered a guaranteed date.
